We know it has been too long since the last time you heard from us. As we announced this past summer we were expanding our operation and with this we have been busier than we could have hoped for. This season had started off very slow. Trickling migrations of geese and almost no ducks until the last 3 weeks of their season. We are still stacking up the geese and still have limited openings. We can hunt Canada geese until February 12th and from there we will go straight into snow goose. Book your hunts today by phone or e-mail. We will keep everyone updated on the snow geese as we get closer.
We are proud to announce that we have expanded our hunting operations. We are no longer strictly a waterfowl outfitter. We are now offering turkey hunts and possible Whitetail deer hunts in the near future. As we expand and open up to a larger customer base we made changes to both the name and the logo. The once "Next Generation Waterfowl" as grown to the now "Next Generation Outfitters." We hope to see both new and returning clientele to the goose fields and now the turkey woods. As always thanks to everyone and their support of us.
We have been in a state of limbo waiting on the snow geese to show up here in Nebraska, but the wait has come to an end. With these mid 50 degree temperatures the snow is melting fast, birds are moving north, knocking on our door and we are ready for them to come on in! This is the leading edge of the birds and anyone who has ever hunted snows before knows that these are the adult birds. The ones that have been around for years and have seen every spread and tactic known. These white devils are the most challenging, but the biggest reward when you convince them to do it right. Just a few more weeks and we will have the young juvies. NO LIMITS AND NO PLUGS, book your hunts today while we still have room!
The regular canada goose season is coming to an end here on February 9th, but all good things must come to and end. We have had quite the season with some very memorable hunts, and very memorable people. We want to thank everyone that has joined us this year and we hope to see you next year. As the season comes to an end we are beginning to transition into the spring conservation order on snow geese. More information can be found on our "Pricing" page. Give us a call and book your hunt today! No limits, no plugs, endless fun.
With just 4 weeks left in our Canada goose season here in Nebraska the birds have become their usual late season selves. Birds are patterning to fields they know they are safe in. Flying at all hours of the day feeding on both grass in the city and corn on the city limit lines. It has become tough to traffic birds or even find areas where we can hunt them, but certainly hasn't stopped us. We are getting it done. This chase is what keeps us going. If it was easy it wouldn't be nearly as much fun.
The hard winter weather has finally arrived. Water is locking up hard, there is a light blanket of snow in the fields, and the geese are stacking up. We have had some great days in both fields and over water. Highs are in the low 20's and nights are teens and going to to be single digits soon. We are more than prepared for these conditions. We have ice eaters and generators running to keep our kill holes open and heaters to stay comfortable in the blinds. Still have a month of chasing geese here in Nebraska and have open seats in the warm blinds. Give us a call or shoot us an email to book your hunts.
Can't say there are tons of geese around, but there is enough to keep everyone happy. One of our ponds has been producing very well. The shooting has been hot as you can see and with these winds its almost not fair how easy they are decoying. The duck season ended for us yesterday in zone 4, but the goose piles are far from over. Unfortunately it is the weather that is heating up. It has been a tough couple days and week to come with these high 50 degree days. Majority of the birds are feeding on the same local golf courses they roost on in the morning, but we are catching a few coming out. The evenings are a true race against time as the bird began leaving their loafing sites with 20 minutes left of legal shooting light. These kinds of conditions are what drive us to keep on going. You gotta be out there if you want to shoot them!
It has been a cold weekend, but that hasn't slowed us down. Had to brake some ice on our pot holes this weekend. A little extra work allowed for a great hunt shooting our limits of mallards by 10am with a few canadas for good measure. The fields were being hit hard by geese and we took advantage shooting our limits of canadas with two pieces of jewelry as a gift. More and more birds are moving in and temperatures are going to rise back to the 40s this week opening everything back up and melting the snow quick to welcoming the new birds to Nebraska.
